The Sea Hawk is a biographical drama of the life of Bo, a simple sea captain, who for more than fifty years sailed throughout the Eastern Carribean, transporting ‘huksters’, inter-island traders. His profound relationship with the sea and with his boat, the Sea Hawk, was life shaping.
The author acompanies Bo on one of his trips, symbolic of Bo’s own life journey...a spiritual exodus climaxing in his crossing over through death into eternity. A series of flashbacks moves the story forward giving a unique insight into the life, culture and enduring spirit of the Dominican people.

About the Author
Juliana Magloire is from the Commonwealth of Dominica in the Caribbean. She was educated at The University of the West Indies, The University of Southern California, and at the Université des Sciences Humaines and Université Robert Schuman in Strasbourg, France. She has a doctorate in International Relations and a professional degree in Translation. She speaks a number of languages.
Dr. Magloire has previously written in the area of international affairs especially on the Inter-American System. The Sea Hawk is the result of a cathartic experience in dealing with the death of her father, on April 10th in 2003. It is the first in her new series, Simple Heroes Books, which will focus on the heroic lives of simple people, who otherwise would go unrecognized. Dr. Magloire says she will still continue to write on international issues.
